Our Company History

About Hometown Threads.

Hometown Threads is a locally owned and operated business located in North Olmsted, Ohio since 2003. We started with two single-head embroidery machines in an 800 square foot location inside of the local Walmart and in 2022 moved to our new 6,200 square foot space on Lorain Road.

Over time our business expanded, adding additional machines and services. We swapped out one of our early machines for a six-head version, and then added a four-head and two-head machine. We recently added a new eight-head machine. This has increased our production capacity by a factor of ten! Along the way we added a digital printer to allow us to create customized shirts affordably, perfect for those who need as few as one, but with the capacity to do hundreds.

Jim Mayer Sporting Goods joined Hometown Threads in 2010, and we have become a provider of gym uniforms and spirit wear for a number of west side schools.

Not only do we carry items for students and parents, we also are able to outfit teams in jerseys and uniforms from a variety of different brands. Our latest machine is perfect for teams, as we added a vinyl cutter for adding names and numbers to jerseys, shirts and sweatshirts.

We are proud to stock Holloway varsity jackets. With size samples in our showroom, we’ll make sure your selection fits perfectly and walk you step by step through the design process. This way the jacket is exactly what you want it to be.

In need of a bigger space, we moved out of Wal-Mart in 2012 to a location on Great Northern Boulevard that was 3,200 sq. ft. In 2022 we moved to our current location on Lorain Road, which is 6,200 sq. ft.

If you haven’t already, be sure to stop in and see what we can do for you.
